Lions participate in 2022 Repair Affair
On Saturday, September 17th, the Georgetown Lions Club and the Georgetown Christian Church teamed up with Repair Affair of Harrison County. Each year Repair Affair sets aside one day to complete projects for the elderly or disadvantaged. There are usually about 20 teams. The joint Georgetown Lions/Georgetown Church team built a 40' handicap ramp this year. While a lot of planning was done before hand, construction began at 8:30 Saturday morning and the ramp was completed that evening.

Another Ramp
On September 12 the club was contacted my Ms Gabrielle Kopp about a handicap ramp. She had fallen through her porch and broken a leg. She was in the hospital when she called, telling us that she was headed to rehab for a couple of weeks and that she could not go home until her home was equipped with a ramp. We contacted Bob Dodds from the Elizabeth Lions Club to see if they could help since Ms Kopp lives in southern Harrison county, very near Elizabeth. Bob had several aluminum ramp sections that he was willing to contribute to the project. September 30th, less than three weeks after the request, the ramp was installed by Georgetown and Elizabeth Lions. Pictured above are Lions Jim Galbreath, Bentley Adams, Don Tyler, and Bob Dodds. Lion John Bruns is the photographer.
